This is amazing Satsuki. I have been waiting to take a moment and read this. The timing is perfect. My weekend was spent trying to realign my life to manage exhaustion and anxiety. More crocheting, audible, time with home chores. I started an herb routine and hope it helps. My body cannot seem to rest enough and I have some real anxiety around obligations ahead of me. Your Substack was very powerful. More more more.

This is something I've felt for a while now, and just this year I feel like I'm truly stepping into my own rhythm.

For me it was seeing so much art being produced on Instagram -- constant new releases, new process videos, talking heads, images, etc. It used to make me feel like I was "supposed" to do that too -- like I should be constantly in production mode. But for me, space and time is non-negotiable.

I used to live in L.A. and work in marketing for the film industry and it was constant ridiculous deadlines with no respect for having a life outside of work. So when I see that kind of energy show up in art I react so strongly to it -- totally from my old life -- and (wrongly) feel like I have to do it too. But I don't. And I see that more and more clearly, and have been able to embrace it and this creative life in my own way.

Thank you so much for sharing this! xoxo
