This is amazing Satsuki. I have been waiting to take a moment and read this. The timing is perfect. My weekend was spent trying to realign my life to manage exhaustion and anxiety. More crocheting, audible, time with home chores. I started an herb routine and hope it helps. My body cannot seem to rest enough and I have some real anxiety around obligations ahead of me. Your Substack was very powerful. More more more.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to read through this post and share your thoughts. Crocheting, audible, time, home chores, herb routine all sounds like a beautiful way to re-calibrate with your internal rhythm. I hope to share more downloads. :)

This is something I've felt for a while now, and just this year I feel like I'm truly stepping into my own rhythm.

For me it was seeing so much art being produced on Instagram -- constant new releases, new process videos, talking heads, images, etc. It used to make me feel like I was "supposed" to do that too -- like I should be constantly in production mode. But for me, space and time is non-negotiable.

I used to live in L.A. and work in marketing for the film industry and it was constant ridiculous deadlines with no respect for having a life outside of work. So when I see that kind of energy show up in art I react so strongly to it -- totally from my old life -- and (wrongly) feel like I have to do it too. But I don't. And I see that more and more clearly, and have been able to embrace it and this creative life in my own way.

Thank you so much for sharing this! xoxo

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! I really resonate with what you shared -- so much has changed in terms of how we connect with one another. It's funny to think about how these things went about prior social media/platforms.

Time, rhythm, and our internal flow, all of these things have to sync in order to feel inline with life and it seems to be increasingly harder to hear these whispers within. I loved reading especially about the contrast from when you used to live in L.A. to where you are today.
